After a much expected hiatus, I suppose I can be said to be back blogging, permanent? Time will tell. The flip-floppy commitment of mine on this blog is really quite shameful. Created during moments of boredom when I should be studying, and abandoned when exam are over and life takes over. This time, it’s not so much as to having exams but the lack of having anything to do here makes writing seem appealing again.

I’ve been writing for a while now on various platforms but recently I’ve been feeling the urge to write, as a columnist on a daily newspaper. It’s quite a high ambition I know, especially for someone with such a horrid spelling. But I think I would make a nice and interesting experience into my otherwise mundane life. I composed a letter to the editor targeted at some Malaysian newspapers. I knew there was no hope in getting a gig into Australian papers, what would an immigrant lad have to contribute to a foreign talkback anyway?

Moments later, I trashed the letter. Or perhaps more so closing the window without saving. Which reminds me of an old typewriter we used to have at home that I insisted that my mother kept because it would be an antique but she instead donated to the school. Lost a few hundred quid there from eBay. Anyway, I digress. The reason I didn’t send the letter out was because of a simple fact: if say, by a miracle I got the job, what the heck am I supposed to write about??? I can’t even keep this blog thing under a topical umbrella, what am I going to do with writing real material? I can’t just conjure rubbish and bullshit everything I’m compelled to submit something.

The chain reaction was instantaneous. What am I sincerely interested in? Daily proceedings of life? Sure that could drum up a few laughs. Politics? Always been interested. Especially these days, who can possibly put down a Malaysian newspaper without reading the gloss about our upper echelons? It’s like a good thriller novel that you read chapter by chapter everyday.

I figured I could perhaps give insights into the student life in Australia, and if I dared, comment on the politics of the homeland. But I need attention! No-one will be interested on the take of a nobody! I need to scheme on a plan to attract attention. Perhaps I could drum up a STD. I mean SD! SD!

I just got back from a stand up comedy by Arj Barker here in uni. It was AWESOME. Everything you would’ve seen on TV actually happens before your eyes. Fuck censorship. The days where you go “*gasp!* he said the F-word in front of all these people??” are gone.

He actually put it quite clearly in one of his acts (forgive my plagiarism of humour)

You guys are cool. you can take all this shit words perfectly. In fact, Australians curse so much that it’s like the entire country is founded by sailors.
The other day I was asking for directions, I said “Mate, you know the way to the post office?”
“Shit yeah. You turn fuckin left on that fuckin corner there then fuckin turn right on the bloody fuckin roundabout then just go fuckin straight like a bitch. On your left you’ll see that cunt”
“Owh… alright. thanks reverend”

Which actually is very much true. My language, I must admit has grown rather flowery since I’ve been here. To the point that I’m compelled to cuss with heavy aboriginal accent.
I do, however still try to avoid using the big guns of cursing. Fuck, I must clarify is NOT a big gun. It’s not even a bullet. Fuck is basically an upgrade from when you were a kid using stuff like stupid and dumb-dumb. It’s not a gun. It’s just from a pacifier to a fork.

In fact, Fuck is so widely used that the brutality of it has been blunted. Granted it’s still taboo, it’s definitely nothing as hair raising as the P-word.

Mom did it again.

She’s awesome and everyone knows that (if taken in separate, controlled doses).
This time she boiled some soup for my dad and herself in the morning. Unfortunately, she left for work forgetting to turn off the stove, leaving the fire on and the soup continuing to boil into the arvo until there was of course needless to say, no soup left.

Thankfully she remembered about it after lunch and got my dad to rush home and turn it off.

Even more thankful to be of is that the house didn’t bloody blow up! Now she’s too paranoid to boil soup anymore.

Yup, she almost blew up the house again.

Everyone would’ve been though this. At the very perils time of something important, such as an exam or a dateline for an assignment. Or whatever which requires you to study.

Suddenly everything else seems more important.

Like having to clean the desk before you start studying just because you can’t study with all the clutter even though you lived with it well and good for the past month.

Or even reading up suddenly on what Cholera is about on Wikipedia just because it suddenly came to your mind. That of course, lead to finding out about how radios work and the very important knowledge of what companies does Unilever own.

And the best of all, this. Right here staring at your face.

A brand new blog and another brand new post.

Simply because there’s a sudden urge to blog again. That exact same urge I had when I suddenly had to for some reason play SimTower and spent significant time procuring it.

And whilst this is done, my exams are scheduled on Tuesday and I’ve shit piled up so high the bottom’s already decomposed.

I need to kill myself.

Perhaps it’s time we think not only out of the box; but beyond it. And even if we miss the mark, we can still say we had an adventure.

This is my comeback from blogging after a 1 year hiatus. I wouldn’t really say comeback actually; who knows how long I’ll last this time around. You might remember oxymoron-life.blogspot (assuming you were a follow-up) well, that has been shut down to only for my viewing- a library of my thoughts.This is something fresh now. A new perspective of life with fresh ingredients and stronger opinions.

Still, I’ll get this place running once things fall into place.
